Overview:

WGACA is the premier purveyor of the finest luxury vintage accessories and apparel from around the world. For over 25 years, we've elevated traditional vintage shopping into a high-fashion experience with our unique vision and concept. We're seeking a talented Design Lead to be the creative visionary for our brand, determining how we storytell the brand, defining the visual language, leading design for all branded materials, and ensuring every asset is as elevated as possible. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and partnering with other leads within the marketing team, this person will develop the overall brand look and feel, lead the layout and production design for digital ads, brochures, signage, look books, brand decks, social content, etc.

The ideal candidate has the highest aesthetic standards manifested in their work but they fully understand that the work's purpose is to compel a business outcome. This person is passionate about fashion and luxury brands, they have expert knowledge of current design trends and software. They are skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable, from typography to photo editing, and they have deep expertise in regards to branding and brand identity. This person is motivated, inspired, compelled to innovate and create work that is arresting, ownable, resonant, and simply drop dead gorgeous.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define WGACA's brand identity and brand guidelines to ensure cohesive, consistent, and immediately identifiable storytelling across every project and every channel, print to digital, in store to event
  • Create best-in-class creative assets, graphics and designs for multi-channel branded assets, spaces, and activations
  • Collaborate within the marketing team and cross-functionally with Merchandising, eCommerce, Retail, etc, interpreting business needs and leading the vision of how to translate them into inspirational and aspirational visual designs and executions
  • Manage and elevate the quality of design throughout all phases for a variety of project types and brand campaigns including seasonal campaigns
  • Stay abreast of trends, infusing the latest in fashion and culture into the work to ensure the brand remains relevant and innovative
  • Own the holistic vision for seasonal promotions, including in digital, in-store signage initiatives, et al
  • Design and implement engaging content for advertising, in-store signage programs, consumer collateral (catalogs, mailers, postcards, etc.), packaging, web-based marketing materials (emails, web banners, etc.), and internal presentations
  • Partner with the broader marketing team to ensure photo and video shoots are as successful as possible
  • Ensure materials achieve business goals, like driving awareness and brand recognition, driving conversion, and engaging community involvement
  • Have a meticulous eye for detail and aim to deliver work with minimal revisions
  • Maintain file hygiene and hold the highest standards for organizational practices, updating and maintaining internal databases for designs, photography, and video and finding solutions to continuously improve processes
  • Immerse yourself in the the luxury market and the vintage/preowned space to understand the landscape and WGACA's unique points of differentiation
  • Lead and supervise team members to achieve departmental goals

Requirements

Exceptional Design Skills

8+ years experience in design for luxury and retail brands. A portfolio of work showcasing a strong foundation in design principles, including color theory, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy. A BA/BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Workspace is required. (Knowledge of After Effects, CSS, HTML a plus.)
