Your Primary Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for evaluating and assessing the risk of non-QM mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Thoroughly examine and analyze non-QM loan applications, including borrower creditworthiness, income, assets, and property evaluations.
Assess the risk associated with non-QM loans, taking into consideration the unique characteristics and risks of non-QM products.
Ensure all underwriting activities comply with company policies, federal and state regulations, and investor guidelines.
Make informed and timely underwriting decisions, including approvals, counteroffers, or denials, based on a thorough risk assessment.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of the underwriting process, decisions, and any conditions required for loan approval.
Effectively communicate with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates on loan status.
Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the underwriting process, providing alternative solutions when necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, business, or similar; OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in functional area.
Additional one (1) years of progressive experience in functional area.
Additional Job Requirements:
Demonstrated skills and experience with non-QM mortgage functions.
Solid understanding of multiple non-QM loan products.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 365 and the following technology: Encompass.
Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change daily, and where employees wear many hats.
Detail-oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
