LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Planning Manager to join their team in Streamwood, IL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in inventory, forecasting, and purchasing, ideally within the packaging industry. Must have 7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. This position entails overseeing a small team of 6 buyer/planners, implementing effective inventory management processes, and ensuring seamless operations in line with company goals. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of 6 buyer/planners, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and achieve departmental objectives.
Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize backorders, and reduce out-of-stock occurrences, while maintaining supplier on-time delivery metrics.
Utilize strong analytical skills to forecast demand, analyze inventory trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory management processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Finance, to align inventory strategies with business objectives and customer needs.
Utilize advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Optimize the use of NetSuite ERP or similar systems to enhance inventory visibility and control.
Drive change initiatives and process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, streamline operations, and increase efficiency.
Maintain accountability for meeting company-defined metrics related to backorders, out-of-stocks, and supplier on-time delivery.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in inventory management and supply chain operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in inventory management, forecasting, and purchasing, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables, to analyze data and generate reports.
Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, driving performance through effective communication, coaching, and development.
Experience implementing new ERP systems or leading ERP-related initiatives is a plus.
Demonstrated success in creating and implementing SOPs to improve inventory management processes.
High SKU count management experience is highly desirable, preferably within the packaging industry.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
