Position Description:
The Controller oversees financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Controller supervises the accounting department staff and directs the department operations, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Develop internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
Establish and maintain financial controls with the accounting department.
Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
Create reports that help senior leadership understand company financials.
Responsible for the company general ledger.
Manage accounting functions daily, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
Perform technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting.
Must have a CPA License.
15-20+ years of overall experience with proven experience in a controllership role.
Experience with Technical Accounting.
Experience working in financial transformation/systems implementation or integration involving ERP systems such as MS Dynamics or SAP.
Experience managing inventory & international accounting teams.
Experience working as a controller or similar role.
Experience working for companies operating at a multinational/global capacity.
Experience working for Big4/Big 8 and publicly traded companies.
Experience working with M&A Accounting preferred but not required.
Experience working both in Public and Private Accounting
Must be a solutions-driven individual who can identify gaps and implement solutions to meet deadlines/timelines.
Proven work experience in accounting or a related field.
Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with solid organization and priority-setting skills.
Proven experience in financial project management.
Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
