Our client, a growing financial institution, is looking to expand their Risk & Operations team with a Payments Operations Manager who will oversee a critical part of the product lines, focusing primarily on their fintech clients and improving current functions (e.g. real time payments).
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations of the Payment Operations team.
Ensure all electronic payments (ACH, Wire, Card services) are processed accurately and promptly.
Monitor and manage payment processing workflows and systems.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Payment Operations Analysts.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Project Management:
Drive projects and roadmap deliverables.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to resolve friction points.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant payment regulations and standards.
Implement and maintain robust risk management processes.
Stay updated with changes in payment regulations and industry best practices.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance payment systems.
Be a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payment processing issues.
Manage relationships with payment processors and other third-party vendors (e.g., Fiserv).
Documentation and Reporting:
Develop and maintain documentation for payment processing procedures.
Generate regular reports on payment processing performance and KPIs.
Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in payment processing or financial operations.
5+ years of leadership experience in electronic payments.
Experience with managing relationships with payment processors and other third-party vendors.
Certifications:
Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP)).
