SUMMARY:

Oversees sales growth initiatives through acquiring, retaining, and expanding key strategic customer accounts. This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in B2B sales, relationship management, and sales process management. The ideal candidate will excel in mentoring account executives and driving collaborative efforts to deliver tailored solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Account Management:
  • Understand the unique needs and challenges of each strategic account and collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that address their specific requirements.
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders within strategic accounts to identify opportunities for expansion, upselling, and cross-selling of products and services.

Business Development:
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing strategic accounts and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and prioritize target accounts for strategic business development initiatives.

Market Analysis and Strategy:
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth within strategic account segments.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to capitalize on market opportunities and enhance competitive position within key industries.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic accounts, tracking sales performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights into the performance of strategic accounts and identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Account Executives, helping them develop their skills, achieve their goals, and advance their careers within the organization.
  • Identify and implement sales methodology and training programs and related systems to enhance the capabilities of the strategic accounts team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams; sales, marketing, operations, engineering, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and seamless delivery of products and services to strategic accounts.

Travel:
  • Travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and participate in trade shows.

Miscellaneous:
  • Perform special projects and other duties assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Manages team of Account Executives and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, and seven years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory software; manufacturing software; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.
