Food Service Supervisor 

Department: Food Services 

Classification: SCOGC GL 

Exemption Status: Non-exempt 

Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager 

Pay Grade: TBD 

Location: All GLC Properties 

Position Summary — The Food Service Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Food Service department. 

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 


  • Supervise department staff, overseeing timecard reviews, corrective actions, and departmental scheduling. Monitor and evaluate employee performance to ensure optimal productivity. 


  • Ensuring that workflow processes are followed and that tasks are completed on time. Coordinating and prioritizing tasks to meet operational goals. 


  • Lead the recruitment process and conducting interviews. 


  • Training new employees on departmental processes, procedures, and safety protocols. Providing ongoing training to existing staff to enhance skills and performance. 


  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills while fostering positive relationships with both guests and staff.  


  • Adhere strictly to reporting requirements, the employee handbook, departmental policies, and safety regulations established by Grand Lake Casino. 


  • Ensure excellent guest satisfaction at each Food venue(s).  


  • This is a working supervisor position that may require filling in for positions within the department when needed.  


  • Track and maintain inventory levels and create pars.  


  • Assist in training Food service personnel to make sure they understand their roles.  


  • General knowledge of Food service point-of-sales system.  


  • Reports all pertinent information on to the Food and Beverage Manager.  


  • Provide a communication line for all employees and channels input to Manager. 


  • Ensure cleanliness of all Food venue(s).  


  • Perform daily walkthroughs to ensure that brand standards are upheld.  


  • Responsible for maintaining all Food and Beverage equipment.  


  • Develops, implements, and evaluates guest service standards consistent with the Grand Lake Casino’s core service standards and brand attributes. 


  • Participates in the implementation and evaluation, of new products, vendors, services, technology, and processes to ensure competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs. 


  • Ensures compliance will all applicable regulations to include: IHS, internal SICS, and other regulations as deemed applicable by Casino Compliance. 

Qualifications   


  • Associates degree in F&B Management, Culinary Arts, or related field or equivalent combination of supervisory experience and education required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  


  • Ability to lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. 


  • Ability to multitask and work as part of the team and to promote a cooperative approach between departments. 


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 


  • Knowledge of proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points. 


  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety requirements. 

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 21 years of age per gaming regulations. ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification. 

Physical Requirements — Must be able to Lift over 50 lbs, must be able to bend stoop or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work in areas that exceeds 100 degrees. 

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights. 

Special Working Conditions — This position requires the flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work under pressure.
