Referral Specialist at Roth Staffing Companies in Tarpon Springs, Florida

Job Description:

Our client is a busy Medical office located in Tarpon Springs. They are seeking a temporary Referral Specialist to join their team. The main job is to strictly process and obtain referrals for patients. You will also be responsible for calling patients, insurance providers, and physicians to obtain referrals. You must have knowledge of medical insurances and know how to process referrals and obtain authorizations.



Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process referrals for patients to specialist providers


• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals


• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status and requirements


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of referrals and related documentation


• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information


• Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure smooth referral processes


• Responsible for knowledge of insurance coverages, documentation of authorizations, and communicating the status of authorizations to the practice staff


• Updates patient insurance information in billing systems as needed


• Initiates the referral and authorization process for all services and visits

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting


• Must be familiar with medical terminology, medical records, and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)


• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and requirements


• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skill

Pay Rate: $19/ Hour


Hours: 7AM- 5PM Monday - Friday
