The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Wire Assembler to join the team in Everett , WA

As an Assembler in our company, you will play a crucial role in the production process by cutting and trimming electrical wire, building wire bundles used to connect electrical systems, and assembling shelf and panel units. These wire bundles and assemblies are essential components that are later installed in various major sub-assembly shops, including Join and Installation (J&I), System and Installations (S&I), Final Body Join (FBJ), and Final Assembly (FA).

Position Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and verify that kitted (pre-picked) materials were issued correctly.
  • Ensure that parts issued are correct & free of visible defects.
  • If necessary, assemble materials, parts, standards & tools as required.
  • Set up job per work instruction.
  • Install board/table brackets & clamps as required.
  • Set up & operate Numerical Control (N/C) wire cutting machine(s) to cut & code wire.
  • Load cutting tools & wire, adjust feeds/speeds as required.
  • Fabricate wire bundles, by cutting, coding, counting, sleeving & splicing wire.
  • Install connectors, lugs, solder sleeves, ferrules & contacts.
  • Crimp & terminate using hand or machine crimping tool; tie with lock stitch or conduit straps.
  • Hand form as necessary.
  • Cut & install plastic sleeves over wires & wire bundles, as required.
  • Install accessories (relays, circuit breakers, switches & lights) and decals onto shelves and panels as required, using hand tools and soldering gun.
  • Check continuity of electrical assemblies using test lights or ohmmeter, as required.
  • Handle & dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.
  • Check work upon completion of each operation & ensure it is complete per drawing.
  • with others as part of a team which includes working safely giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks; possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills
  • Experience utilizing math that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions
  • Blue print reading


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position meets Export controlled requirements and Requires a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15? "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ Years experience using tools and/or hand-held power tools
  • 1+ years experience with electrical assembly installation
  • Ability to lift 35 pound


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • flexibility to support another location if asked.


Typical Education:

High school graduate or GED.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Union:

This is an hourly position governed by the IAM 751 Collective Bargaining agreement.

Current Boeing employees working in Puget Sound and Portland must submit an Employee Request (ERT) to be considered in the eligible candidate pool.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.

Summary pay range: $18.00 - 40.43 an hour
