Position Purpose:

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overall management of financial reporting tasks – including preparation, assessment, and presentation of financial statements and reporting. Demonstrates Civista Bank's mission to improve the financial lives of our employees and shareholders to make a difference in the communities that we serve.


Open to hybrid vs in office – ideally 20-50% of time; and in office key times.

Needs to be driving distance to Sandusky


Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Create and deliver financial statements and report analysis to meet internal reporting requirement, coordinating with internal business partners as needed.
  • Prepare and review month end closing deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly reporting information, holding company quarterly reports, and the organization's annual report.
  • Meet regulatory & SEC Reporting requirements in alignment with Financial Accounting Principles. SEC reporting may not be possible – if coming from a smaller institution; but wants to learn / expand into SEC reporting.
  • Experience managing a team; or being a team leader.
  • Collaborate with Financial Operations team to support audits, special projects, day to day operations, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Prepare periodic tax calculations for external review or filing.
  • All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.


Requirements:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Five to seven years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Call reporting experience a must.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards, laws and regulations related to the job.
  • Strong understanding of bank operations and reporting capabilities.
  • Solid Computer literacy (Word, Excel) with accurate data entry skills; proficient knowledge of working with spreadsheet and creating formulas. Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • High level of confidentiality required.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.




Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, working with spreadsheets and so forth.
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves ability to communicate professional both in person and via telephone; hear, see, accurately manipulate figures, and sit for long periods at a time.
  • Work involves lifting and moving loan files of up to 15 lbs.
  • Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, and so forth.
