Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space Launch System (SLS) program is seeking a Senior Launch Integration Engineering Manager for the Launch Integrated Product Team (IPT). The selected candidate will be responsible for leading and Integrating Launch and Mission Operations for Exploration Upper Stage (EUS), Core Stage, and Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) located at Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Your team is responsible for SLS' Upper Stages. The ICPS is the upper stage of SLS Block 1, and first flew on Artemis 1. The EUS is planned to first fly on Artemis 4. The EUS will complete the SLS ascent phase and then re-ignite to send its payload to destinations beyond Low Earth Orbit. Your team is responsible for the preparation, delivery, integration, testing and day of launch support, working closely with other Boeing SLS teams, NASA, as well as ground and integration support contractors.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Support Launch Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals, completing the Launch IPT work statement by executing the performance-to-plan within program budget.
  • Shared responsibility for Integrating Logistics, Material Management, Ground Support and Tooling management for KSC, Readiness and Product support.
  • Shared responsibility for Baseline Requirements Integration at KSC, Launch IPT Risk management, Launch IPT change management, Test & Checkout Integration, KSC knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems.
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Knowledge of product support technical data requirements and formats (e.g., review and interpret engineering data/drawings, maintenance manuals, cataloging, structural repair manuals, manufacturing plans) to support product deliverables, Work Instructions review and Day of Launch Activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Manage employees performing activities within multiple Engineering disciplines including Launch Operations.
  • Manage day-to-day assignments for Integration personnel that support 24/7 operations 7 days a week during the launch campaign.
  • Attract, develop, and retain the talent required to perform Launch IPT work statement.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (approximately once a month).


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Previous management experience.
  • Previous experience in the Space, Defense or Aerospace industry.
  • Active DoD clearance (Secret or higher).
