Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Human Resources provides operational leadership within the Human Resources Department under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for HR operations in the Director's absence. This position's primary responsibility is to ensure all HR operations are running smoothly, all transactions are being processed in an efficient and timely manner, and there is prompt communication with university constituents.


This position is located in-person at Kutztown University.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5-7 years of Human Resources or related experience

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience

  • Experience working in a unionized environment

  • Experience working with diverse populations

  • Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and improve internal processes to increase efficiency

  • Proven leadership

  • Knowledge of State and Federal Human Resources related laws (e.g. FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.)

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications



  • Human Resources Certification

  • Experience working in higher education

Supplemental Information

The anticipated starting salary range is $87,000 - 94,0000 commensurate with experience and skills.
