What a Unit Manager Does:

The primary purpose of the job is to direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Unit in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing long term care facilities, and as may be directed by the Director or Assistant Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the residents at all times.

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.


• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.


• Facilitates the resolution of issues and concerns associated with resident / patient care including family issues.


• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.


• Makes nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the delivery of care.


• Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director.

Requirements:

• Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a LPN in Colorado


• CPR certification


• Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check


• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in post acute or skilled nursing preferred
