What you need to know about the role -


We are looking for a professional who has experience implementing, managing, and maintaining compliance within areas of Model Risk Management and leading a team that conducts model reviews.


Meet Our Team-


As part of Global Complaints Management (GCM), the Model Governance Lead will support GCS by helping to manage risk processes existing in the first line of defense. You will have responsibility for managing a team and actively monitoring, analyzing and providing insights in respect of model performance. You will also provide timely management of remediating identified model concerns/issues with relevant stakeholders. You are responsible for managing product/business-specific risk and engaging with business partners across all lines of defense.

  • Manage a team responsible for conducting reviews against model performance.




  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining process documents related to Global Complaints Management Model Governance.




  • Maintain model inventory for Global Complaints Management.




  • Implement effective processes in relation to report production. Maintain and modify management information and respond to requirements for ad hoc analysis of the Model portfolios.







Your day to day



In your day to day role you will...






  • Monitor portfolio metrics and analyze data patterns and proactively investigate unusual trends or variances within and across reports. Provide insightful report commentary outlining existing and emergent trends.




  • Actively participate in governance activities and the key business initiatives as a subject matter expert for Global Complaints Management.




  • Reimagine and structure the framework for the Model Governance function within Global Complaints Management, leveraging current processes, considering industry best practices, as well as adapting them to PayPal's reality.




  • Develop, maintain, and work monitoring and reporting process for all automated models owned by Global Complaints Management, including regular communications with senior stakeholders and Second Line of Defense.




  • Develop and own monthly and annual planning cycles for AI Models





What do you need to bring





  • Manage incoming model change requests, partnering with Model Risk Management and Model Developers to ensure successful approval and implementation of new model versions.








  • Partner with all GCM Issues owners to ensure timely and compliant closure of Issues. Proactively review all complaint related Issues and raise awareness as needed in respect of same.




  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the business, Product, Second Line of Defense, and other functional teams.




  • Provide analytical support and insights related to Model Governance and Issue Management activities to business and partners.




  • Discover and propose new opportunities to grow and optimize BAU tasks through analytics and automation.




  • Possess a desire to continuously learn, improve processes and to share learnings with colleagues.
