3-5 years of Project Management/leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
2--5 years of Data Telecommunications Infrastructure design experience.
2-10+ total years of structured cabling system installation experience.
Experience in Information Technology, AEC, Telecommuncations, or Low Voltage Data Cabling industry preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of copper and fiber cabling systems and their applications.
Knowledge of Data Center, Campus, MDF/IDF buildout, including but not limited to, -DataComm distribution systems, grounding and bonding, cable pathway systems, and wire management.
Strong competency in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be willing to learn new methodologies and stay current on emerging technologies.
Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues and convey your solutions to project stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities "The ITS Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day engineering tasks associated with customer requests for projects, auditing, structured cabling design, and integrated technologies.
Participate in a team-oriented environment to design, coordinate, and ensure project drawings and specifications produced exemplify attention to detail for constructability and cohesiveness.
Perform site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes.
Design Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated with Data Cabling Design, and Install.
Participate in the implementation of your designs by attending contract administration (CA) support meetings.
Demonstrates current knowledge on codes and technologies appropriate to telecommunications and building technologies and the design/construction industry
Candidate will be required to conduct site assessments and create reports detailing recommendations to bring the site in compliance with industry and client-internal corporate standards.
Organize, prioritize, and balance multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
This position is Hybrid, and may allow for remote work,, however offices in Louisville, KY, Cincinnati, OH, and Raritan, NJ are Required as primary office.
Must be willing to travel up-to 50% during certain periods of the year.
Typical Workday "
Participate in internal coordination meetings and any customer meetings discussing your assigned projects. Take copious notes and understand your deliverables.
Create WAO (Work area outlet), AP, and security drawings based on customer requirements.
Create rack elevation drawings including V-Soft specified products (patch panels, wire management, fiber housings, rack-mounted power distribution equipment), and customer specified products (Network and Server equipment). This work is done in AutoCAD, Visio, or Revit.
Assist in creation of SOW (scope of work) and BOM (bill of material) documents to provide to our subcontractors for the installation phase of projects.
Coordinate with and guide our subcontractors to ensure a successful project.
