Monitor database performance, uptime, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Ensure campus databases are stable and updated with the most current software versions
Provide 24-hour on-call support to ensure maximum database system availability
Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures
Preserve data by granting appropriate permissions to databases
Provide security support for ERP Application environments with SQL Server configurations and setup
Develop documentation for changes, upgrades, and processes within the DBA role
Prepare numerous recurring and ad-hoc reports which facilitate internal and external initiatives
Lead Application team with managing and creating database jobs, stored procedures, and indexes
Assist with the creation and maintenance of the university data warehouse, institutional reporting, and dashboard reporting
Develop and maintain hardware and software database structures including load balancing and creating SQL farms
Assist with maintenance of all systems and all data integration points
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
In depth knowledge of and experience with MSSQL 2016/2019 databases including relational databases in third normal form, views, stored procedures, and triggers
Knowledge/experience creating database jobs with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Experience with database load balancing and performance monitoring
In depth knowledge of database backup schemas and disaster recovery
Robust understanding of server operating systems
Strong understanding of SQL load balancing and server farms
Report writing experience, preferably with Crystal Reports or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Experience setting up and using SFTP software
Microsoft certification preferred
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
