Job Description:

we are working on a major project to replace our client presentation package system, and one of the key components of the stack in an AWS RedShift database.

It's fairly new technology to us, and we are looking at bringing in an additional external consultant to help out. We would need someone with deep expertise in RedShift, performance tuning and design.

Responsibilities:

Database Architecture and Design

Design, implement, and maintain AWS RedShift databases.

Optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.

Implement best practices in data modeling and database design.

Must have, Performance Tuning and Design and Optimization

Monitor and optimize query performance using tools and tuning parameters.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in queries, ETL processes, and data loading.

Implement caching strategies and indexing to improve query performance.

Data Security and Integrity:

Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.

Ensure data integrity and reliability through proper backup and recovery processes.

Monitor database logs and alerts to proactively identify and mitigate issues.

Collaboration and Documentation:

Work closely with developers, data engineers, and analysts to understand data requirements and optimize database performance.

Document database architecture, processes, and procedures.

Provide guidance and support to team members on database-related issues.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role with a focus on AWS RedShift.

In-depth knowledge of AWS RedShift architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.

Experience in database design, data modeling, and implementation of ETL processes.

SQL skills and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS certifications related to database technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty).

Experience with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
