Job Description:

What you will do:
  • Work closely with operations and the business functions to ensure quality performance of products and processes.
  • Initiation and ownership of PFMEA documentation and compliance.
  • Builds proficiency in problem-solving and root-causing activities.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes for existing and new products.
  • Be responsible for the new testing equipment and new test methods development - MSA, GR&R included.
  • Basic knowledge of formal quality systems (ISO9001, IATF16949)
  • Assist in the development of instructions and/or procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation..
  • Develop, maintain, and improve documents related to the QMS- control plans, PFMEAs, etc.
  • Develop an understanding of risk management practices and concepts and become proficient in process risk.
  • Develop an understanding of optimization of inspection methods and sampling. Support First Article Inspections.
  • Develop proficiency in statistical methods and application.
  • Develop an understanding of manufacturing prints and tolerancing.
  • Builds strong relationships by fostering open communications, respect, and trust. Strong team player and acts with a customer service/stakeholder-focused approach
  • Is diplomatic, tactful, and leverages excellent interpersonal keys to help achieve outcomes.
  • Be the voice of Quality and collaborate with Product Manager.
  • Supports manufacturing engineer in process validations, process control, process training programs, process improvement, risk management, and software validations and control.

What you need:

Required
  • Bachelor Degree or Associates degree preferred and/or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering in an automotive setting
  • Minimum of two years in inspection experience in manufacturing industry, in a decision-making position.
  • Solid PFMEA knowledge
  • Lean principles knowledge
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements.

Preferred
  • Chemical experience highly preferred
  • Have a good understanding of engineering and quality concepts / theories
  • High level of PC skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint packages
  • Knowledge of Risk Based and statistical concepts

Job Type: Full-time

  • Salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year + 10% Bonus
