We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge wearable medical devices.

Job Summary: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing a wearable medical device that monitors heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, and motion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the device meets all functional, performance, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in mechanical design, materials selection, and durability engineering will be crucial to the success of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development:
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies for a wearable medical device that monitors heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, and motion.
  • Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for components and assemblies.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).
  • Materials Selection and Durability:
  • Select appropriate materials for mechanical components, considering factors such as durability, optical properties, skin compatibility, and environmental conditions.
  • Perform durability engineering to ensure the device can withstand daily wear and tear.
  • Optical Mechanical Systems:
  • Design optical mechanical systems incorporating LEDs and photodiodes.
  • Select materials based on optical properties to ensure optimal performance of the optical systems.
  • Manufacturing Processes:
  • Develop and implement designs for injection molding and co-molded parts.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality production.
  • Implement waterproofing and tamper-proofing features in the device design.
  • Locks and Securing Devices:
  • Design locks and securing mechanisms for the wearable device to ensure safety and security.
  • Ensure designs are tamper-proof and meet necessary security standards.
  • Rapid Prototyping and Industrial Design Iteration:
  • Utilize rapid prototyping and 3D printing techniques to create prototypes for new devices.
  • Conduct industrial design iteration to refine prototypes based on testing and feedback.
  • Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure device performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, software engineers, and other team members to integrate mechanical designs with electronic and software components.
  • Communicate design concepts and progress to stakeholders through presentations and reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing wearable medical devices or similar products.
  • Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with materials selection for mechanical components and optical systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with injection molding and co-molded parts.
  • Experience with material bonding, adhesives and welding processes.
  • Knowledge of waterproofing and tamper-proofing techniques.
  • Understanding of skin compatibility and biocompatible materials.
  • Experience with designing locks and securing devices.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and industrial design iteration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards for medical devices (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).
