GovernmentGPT ("GovGPT") is a startup that develops customizable hardware and software with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for dual-use applications in the civilian and military sectors. We provide unique, end-to-end solutions or integrate with existing vendors to support Police, Fire, and the Warfighter with enhanced capabilities. Our mission is to develop novel AI technologies that meet the specific requirements of each customer.

About the Project: GovGPT is working on an innovative project called DragonFly. Our goal is to create a cutting-edge video recording vest integrated with AI-powered threat detection capabilities. This vest will be used to gather training video footage data, enhancing the safety and efficiency of law enforcement officers.

Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on modification of a Blauer bulletproof vest carrier to embed wide-angle cameras.

Front-facing cameras on the shoulder areas.

A rear-facing camera on the back.
  • Ensure cameras are flush-mounted to avoid impeding rifle use.
  • Integrate a stable recording system capable of simultaneous footage capture.
  • Embed solid-state memory for on-vest footage storage.
  • Design and implement a battery solution to support continuous recording for 8-12 hours.
  • Source components and products from vendors such as Temu and Alibaba.
  • Utilize Raspberry Pi or similar computers to programmatically capture and store footage.
  • Collaborate closely with our team in Mountain View and work directly with Bay Area police departments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong hands-on skills and experience in modifying and integrating electronic components into wearable gear.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing embedded camera systems.
  • Experience with battery technology and power management for wearable devices.
  • Ability to source and procure components from vendors like Temu and Alibaba.
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi or similar microcomputers for programming and storage solutions.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Mountain View office.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working on projects related to law enforcement gear is a plus.
