Onsite | Candidates must be local to San Diego, CA | 3-6 month contract
Currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Buyer. This candidate will manage the daily purchasing activities which will include placing orders for materials and/or services for two San Diego locations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Review requisitions submitted, validating required documents are included prior to placing purchase orders.
Communicate effectively with suppliers from order placement to shipping commitment.
Resolve purchase order discrepancies between requestors, purchasing, receiving, suppliers and any other applicable stakeholders.
Ensure all required quality certification documents are included with shipments.
Support warehouse and logistics team in custom delays, when needed.
Support production manufacturing schedule for material requirements to mitigate shortages
Work closely with finance to ensure timely invoice discrepancy resolution
Work closely with receiving to ensure product integrity and proper documentation
Follow up on past due orders and update delivery data in a timely manner in business system.
Maintain department KPI's.
Monitor and enforced procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain related field, or 5 years' procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking
Good collaboration and teamwork skills are essential
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set deadlines and work well with others
Strong skills with Office programs (Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio)
Experience in computer systems applications (MRP) and use in a validated environment including Procurement workflows.
Experience in Oracle JDE and/or Netsuite, a plus.
Must have working knowledge of cGMP concepts and guidelines
