Description
Responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to purchasing equipment and subcontractors to support assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company policies.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the procurement of materials and services.
Review, compare, and evaluate supplier proposals against historical and market pricing to determine cost-competitive options and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Lead commercial negotiations for supply agreements, RFIs, project-specific orders, and change orders with key suppliers, adhering to company policies and guidelines.
Provide insights and forecasts on material and logistics prices for future project estimates.
Manage the procurement of engineered equipment and materials in accordance with project requirements.
Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers during the sourcing process and work effectively with Development, Valuation and Analytics, Project Finance, Asset Management, Legal, and Implementation teams as necessary.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, economics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and a minimum of 3 years of work experience. A graduate degree is preferred.
At least 2-3 years of experience in project management, supply chain, and/or construction projects, preferably within the energy industry. Experience in US power finance, trading, or origination is highly desirable.
Proven experience interacting with vendors and service providers.
Strong understanding of financials, as well as excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
Highly organized with the capability to manage competing tasks effectively.
Experience in solar or storage development or procurement is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of the power and renewable energy market dynamics is required.
Preferred experience in wind, solar, and battery sectors within US competitive wholesale electricity markets and vertically integrated markets.
Must be able to stay current with evolving technologies, regulations, and trends impacting the adoption of renewable energy and the clean energy transition.
A commercial mindset, along with strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills, is essential.
