For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Passiac, NJ on a part-time basis for the school year or year round, depending on candidate preference. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
Position entails a 17.5 hour a week commitment, Monday through Friday from 11:30am - 2:30pm.
Qualifications
B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution
NJ Standard Teaching Certification
Comfortable working with adolescents aged 13-17
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
Reliable Transportation
