This Clinical Intern posting is a part-time position.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a clinical intern, a graduate student will be provided with the site supervision, training, and learning opportunities needed to gain further knowledge and experience of working within a university/college counseling center. These opportunities include providing direct clinical services (individual counseling, group counseling, case management, and crisis intervention) to currently enrolled OWU students, as well as outreach opportunities (consultation, educational/skill-building programming, and collaboration) for students, faculty, and staff during the academic year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively participate in weekly supervision and training with the site supervisor
Provide clinical and non-clinical services to students, faculty, and staff while under supervision
Function as part of a team in terms of collaboration, support, and office management
Assist team with planning and implementation of outreach programming
Attend office and division meetings
Utilize clear, respectful communication and interpersonal skills while completing other duties
Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the office, SES division and the university
Attend campus events as a representative of Counseling Services and/or OWU staff
Maintain compliance with Counseling Services policies and procedures
Maintain compliance with policies and procedures of graduate program
Maintain ethical, moral, and legal standards in professional conduct, documentation, and clinical work
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current enrollment with good standing in a graduate program for clinical mental health counseling or social work and eligibility for internship placement per the graduate program's requirements
Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as competency using technology/computers
Have the ability to form strong, appropriate working relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and relate effectively with diverse members of the campus community
