Position Summary:

An Underwriter is a financial professional responsible for assisting in the loan application process by determining the risk level of working with an applicant. Their duties include researching a client's credit, income, and assets, reviewing applications based on policy guidelines, and performing risk assessment reports. Underwriters manage finance processes within Swoop lending partners. They perform data entry, scoring deals, financial reconciliation, and collection of accounts. Underwriters often measure key performance indicators and create financial reports based on data collected from merchants, partners, and other departments.

Essential Implementation Job Functions:
• Responsible for assisting in the loan application process by determining the risk level of working with an applicant.
• Board new finance accounts into all systems effectively and in a timely manner.
• Ensure receipt of all equipment by merchants through inspecting delivery and acceptance forms, delivery and acceptance tracking, test transactions, and/or verbal verifications.
• Ensure technology is properly functioning and adequate for each business owner.
• Ensure the merchant is 100% satisfied with all aspects of the finance agreement terms and conditions.
• Perform verbal verification calls with merchants verifying merchant information and confirming agreement terms and conditions.
• Submit all scores to the scoring decision orchestration for accurate scoring as well as to the Underwriting Director for final review.
• Resolve and/or work with sales partners to resolve any pending finance agreement chargebacks that may occur within the recourse period or for misrepresentation.
• Pursue stipulations and other various supporting documents from sales partners or merchants to help resolve any support issues, pending credit scoring approvals, or client concerns.
• Work with billing and billing support by helping to collect or clear payments as needed for such items as ACH rejects, lease payment rejects, direct billing, etc.
• Oversees day-to-day collections of finance accounts in default and urgently attempts to collect payments by

contacting merchants through direct phone calls, emails, and text messages.
• Enter all accounts into Turbo Lease with accuracy.
• Create, reconcile, and deliver finance settlement reports in an effective and timely manner.
• Resolve in a timely fashion any account updates or change requests.
• Have a high-level focus on client retention and manage our portfolio to have a 95% payment performance ratio.
• Document all accounts for finance renewal dates and refer those accounts to our internal sales department to reaffirm new agreements with those clients.
• Keep delinquency rates on late payments to 5% of the portfolio or less.
• Collect all hardware, equipment, and/or software for any accounts in default.
• Execute transfer agreements for all finance agreements as directed by the Underwriting Director.
• Effectively conduct, review, and read risk reviews for underwriting guideline purposes to ensure accurate scoring of each new finance account.
• Request and obtain information from the merchant or sales partner as necessary to complete the credit

review process. Determine creditworthiness for businesses of all sizes, both new and established.
• Communicate confidently and effectively with merchants and sales partners as needed to obtain updated financial information or any other documentation needed to provide resolutions to accounts.
• Communicate effectively with internal company departments, as well as multiple levels of

management.
• Stay current on merchant industry trends specific to the industries we support.
• Enter data with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform, record, and store recorded calls as needed to verify and document changes on client

accounts.
• Create, implement, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for the finance department
