Job Description:
Duties
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
- Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of novel sensor integrations in wearable electronics
- Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
Must Haves:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in building hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
- Knowledge of the design process for high-volume consumer products from concept to manufacturing
- Average or higher experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics CAD modeling and physical prototyping
- Experience with FPC/PCB design
- Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding and 3D printing
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of Camera integration or Sensor Integration
- Experience in wearable consumer electronics
- Hands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding.
- Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
