Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team in the dietary supplement industry. As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in our product manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, testing, and documenting product quality, as well as supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Quality Testing and Inspection:
  • Conduct quality inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished dietary supplements.
  • Use testing equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
  • Identify and document any deviations or non-conformances and report them to the Quality Control Coordinator.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control tests and inspections.
  • Ensure all quality-related documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Quality Audits:
  • Support internal and external quality audits by providing accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist in audits to assess adherence to quality control processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
  • Stay current with dietary supplement industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with FDA, GMP, and other relevant regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement best practices for quality enhancement.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Training and Education:
  • Assist in providing training to production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in quality control is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably in the dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control principles, testing methodologies, and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with FDA, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for dietary supplements preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and Walking: Ability to move around the production or laboratory area to conduct inspections, collect samples, or oversee quality checks.
  • Manual Dexterity: Handling small components, laboratory equipment, and samples accurately and safely.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry samples, testing equipment, or supplies (moderate weights).
  • Vision: Excellent vision, including the ability to distinguish colors and read fine print, is essential for conducting visual inspections and reading test results accurately.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Precise handling of testing instruments and equipment.
  • Laboratory Safety: Understanding and adhering to laboratory safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Sensory Perception: Ability to detect subtle differences in product appearance, odor, taste, or texture.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for conveying quality-related information to team members, documenting findings, and reporting results accurately.
  • Sitting and Desk Work: Some administrative tasks, data analysis, and documentation may require sitting at a desk.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Performing multiple quality tests or inspections with attention to detail and consistency.
