Job Description:

YOUR ROLE

The Learning and Leadership Development Specialist is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and facilitation of corporate soft skills and technical development programs for various levels throughout North America, ensuring successful program execution, engagement, and tracking of results.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Assess organizational training needs, providing leadership and subject matter expertise in the planning, development and implementation of blended learning programs, instructor-led courses, digital learning solutions and broader development initiatives for NORTAM.
  • Manage, develop, and execute on project plans to meet clearly defined outcomes.
  • Build relationships with subject matter experts and translate technical knowledge & needs into effective training materials.
  • Assimilate and adapt existing training materials and methodologies to a diverse learning audience.
  • Experienced with learning theory and instructional design methodologies including needs analysis, design approach, material development, effectiveness assessment and workshop facilitation.
  • Identify root causes, interpret data, and design solutions through robust training design.
  • Develop and design instructional materials (workbooks, guides, resources) via learning authorship tools like Articulate, Captivate, and PowerPoint.
  • Develop and manage rollout plans for integrated sets of training modules with careful consideration for appropriate sequencing, prerequisites, and class sizing.
  • Conduct post training and program evaluations to assess participant reactions, knowledge acquisition, application of learned skills and impact of training.
  • Partner with country-level HR Teams (US, MX, CAN) to facilitate collaborative design and delivery of core programs.
  • Collaborate with Global Learning & Development teams to align regional and global programs, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive leadership development learning offering.
  • Operate as Project manager for NORTAM core leadership programs ensuring learning administration, governance and proper organization and record keeping with the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop, assess, and evaluate job and leadership competency frameworks and skill matrices.
  • Construct data-driven executive summaries and learning impact reports with the highest level of data integrity.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • BS / BA degree in relevant field (advanced degree / professional certifications a plus)
  • 5+ years Course/Content and Learning Design experience
  • 3+ years LMS experience
  • Experience in a learning consulting role (internal or external)
  • Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams autonomously and without direct authority
  • Ability to demonstrate programmatic impact using the Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation or a similar method
  • Experience with full learning program development life cycle Event organization, coordination, and delivery
  • ISO / Quality Systems familiarity a plus
  • Audio and/or visual production experience a plus

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills which have been demonstrated in prior roles.
  • Comfortable with direct contact with all employee levels within organization
  • Comfortable working with Regional Management to determine needs for learning / aligning / coordinating efforts to close gaps in results, culture, soft skills, and other areas of concern
  • Intermediate to Expert skill within eLearning authorship platforms (Articulate, Captivate, or equivalent)
  • Technical skill sets in working with Systems, Applications (MS Office) at an intermediate to expert level
  • Excellent written communication skill for department email, publications, newsletters to the field
  • Ability to speak and effectively communicate to and with employees at all levels of the organization.
