Principal Objective of Position: Develop cost estimates for construction projects as required. This includes conceptual cost estimates, schematic design cost estimates, design development cost estimates, and construction document cost estimates.
Job Functions: • Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid • Execute take-offs of construction documents • Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing • Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative • Use software to compile bid • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, etc. • Communicate any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items • Assist project personnel on proposals; participate in transfer of information; assist in the preparation of work plans as requested; pricing of change impacts as required
Other Functions: • Order bid-bonds and performance and payment bonds as needed • May be asked to perform other duties as required by business needs • Upload estimates to job cost • Evaluate and enter production units for job cost • Maintain cost/production data and historical costs in estimating database Key Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings
• Excellent knowledge of computer software programs used in estimating • Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities • Excellent organizational skills • Strong English verbal and written communication skills. • General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records. • Strong mathematical and computer skills • Working knowledge of basic functions of spreadsheet software.

Education: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate), formal College education in related subjects preferred or equivalent related work experience Experience: 2 -5 years of estimating experience preferably in industrial, educational, medical and/or commercial buildings.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Hours of Work may fluctuate depending on the needs and workload. Some overtime may be required based on Company policy.
