Apex Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our city client! Our ideal candidate should have a solid background in database administration and Windows Server management, with a preference for those who also bring cloud and networking expertise to the table. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and smooth operation of our organization's IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in database administration, including Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong knowledge of Windows server administration and Active Directory.
Familiarity with network administration concepts and technologies (preferred).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
Job Description/Essential Functions:
Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS), such as Microsoft SQL Server.
Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Perform routine backups and disaster recovery planning.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
Perform data migrations.
Manage and maintain Windows server environments within virtualized platform, including VMware and GCP.
Install, configure, and update operating systems and server applications.
Monitor server performance, security, and resource utilization.
Implement security measures and patch management to protect against vulnerabilities.
Configure and maintain services, such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
Troubleshoot server and virtualization related issues.
Configure and maintain our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solution, includes SAML/App provisioning configuration.
Configure and maintain SaaS/DaaS implementations
Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems as current as possible with changing technology.
