Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer | Mechanical Design Engineer for a 1-year plus extension W2 contract position with a client located in Erie, PA.
Pay Range: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour on W2
We cannot do C2C or Referral.
Mechanical Engineer job responsibilities include:
Responsible for the structural design of industrial high voltage cabinets - sheet metal fabrications used to house high voltage electrical equipment used in the propulsion system of mining vehicles and locomotives.
Responsible for the arrangement of electrical equipment in high voltage cabinets.
Responsible for all phases of product development including requirements definition, concept development, detailed design, and analysis, drawing release, validation testing, and production support.
This role will be supporting the design engineering teams. This position will need to have a functional knowledge of how to load models, cut sections, take measurements, determine CG and moments of inertia, how to move parts in the model, understand how to use the assembly navigator, etc.
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering (Mechanical is preferred).
Years of Experience: 5 to 6 years of relatable engineering experience.
Desired experience with the following engineering tools: strong NX, Ansys Workbench experience.
