Title: Robotics Engineer, Deployment

Intro

Contoro Robotics is an Austin, Texas-based start-up centered around robot solutions with a desire to make a worldwide impact through advanced robot methodology, be it telemanipulation, haptic feedback, and state-of-the-art human interfaces. Contoro works to solve labor shortage problems in multiple industrial applications with AI-powered industrial robotic arm technology. We overcome the limitation of AI with a human-in-the-loop approach enabled by our human-robot interface. We are looking for intelligent and ambitious Deployment Engineers who want to enjoy our venture together with the best-in-industry engineers.

Expected Role

The Deployment Engineer will lead pilot programs at customer's sites. Contoro developed the first prototype of an innovative container unloading robot. The Engineer will introduce our technology to warehouse customers, deploy the technology at customer sites, and communicate with the customers for successful pilot programs. They will need to understand the demand and pain points of the customers and deliver them to the Contoro team. The engineer should feel comfortable travelling about 50% of the workdays.

Job Responsibility
  • Deploy the robots at the customer sites and support/train them on how to use our robots.
  • Troubleshoot and Debug technical issues.
  • Communicate with the warehouse customers to understand their demand and pain points while using our technology.
  • Deliver and document the customer feedback to the Contoro team whether that be product issues, complaints, or improvements.
  • Coordinate schedule in alignment with customer expectations.

Qualification/Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Enjoy traveling across the nation about 50% of the workdays.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic programming skills (Python, C++).
  • Be able to demonstrate a history of effective leadership and team management.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills or has experience working in a customer facing role.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Has analytical thinking process.
  • Willing to work on hands-on tasks.
  • Willing to learn the technology and the business and grow with the company.
  • Comfortable driving large vehicles.
  • (Plus) Familiar with Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • (Plus) Willing to learn how to drive a forklift.
  • (Plus) Warehouse experience.
  • (Plus) Spanish bilingual.
