Job Description:

The Director of Quality Control is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and implementation of quality and continuous improvement programs for the company. This role will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organization's production operations, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization and the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Directs and oversees the quality control department and supervisory staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of team members and handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that service level meets quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross functional management team and executive level staff across all operations to draft acceptable quality standards.
  • Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.
  • Facilitates communication among operations, management, and customers.
  • Assesses test results and approves recommended changes.
  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Conducts random inspections and quality control checks.
  • Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Desired
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, and/or supplier quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, coaching, and developing a quickly growing team.
  • Experience implementing supplier-related quality systems and processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible and agile with the ability to pivot quickly to changing circumstances and business demands.
  • Customer-focused approach is required.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels and cross-functional teams.
  • Superior time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • ASQC/CQM/CQE certification preferred.
  • APQP, ISO, PPAP Submission Process, Containment Process (Level I, II, III)
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • ISO regulations; Lean Six Sigma
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel: May require 10 - 15% travel as per business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Position requires developing a good working relationship with team members of all levels.
  • Must possess a positive teamwork attitude and get along well with others.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to deal with stress associated with meeting multiple deadlines and demands.
