We are seeking a product driven, tech-obsessed engineer to join our team in a full-time role as a founding Full Stack engineer. You will be writing and deploying code across our React Native and AWS Lambda stack, working closely with Loper's CTO to build, test, and optimize our user journey. You will closely interface with all parts of the tech stack including the mobile app, the microservice backend infrastructure, and the ETL pipelines that port to our data warehouse. You will work side-by-side with Loper's founding team to quickly iterate on user and stakeholder feedback while being a key voice in product and development conversations. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first 3 hires at a venture-backed edtech startup.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the mobile frontend team on the React Native and Expo codebase
Maintain and build features within the AWS Lambda microservice stack written in JavaScript
Make informed decisions on systems design and infrastructure architecture to support the application's growth and long-term scalability
Manage continuous deployment using AWS SAM to streamline the development lifecycle
Design and optimize backend infrastructure, including AWS Lambda, RDS, and Snowflake data warehouse
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems
Optimize application performance across the stack, improving speed and resource utilization
Mentor and guide a growing full-time/contracted development team, promoting continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration
Provide input on product strategy, including features, architecture, data management, and technology choices to drive Loper's success
Role Requirements
3+ years of experience working with AWS, deploying production-ready applications
Extensive experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and microservice architectures
Deep understanding of monitoring and observability best practices
2+ years of experience working with either React, React Native, or a similar JavaScript framework
Preferred Experience
?1+ year experience with React Native and Expo, or mobile app development
Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, Nextjs, Svelte (this is not an exhaustive list)
Familiarity with AWS SAM CLI for serverless application management
