Our client is currently interviewing for a Senior Superintendent to support the construction of a $90m ground-up student housing project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our partner client is a Top 20-ranked Midwest ENR General Contractor who has been in operation for almost 100 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a premier builder to work on a significant, high-profile project in Ann Arbor, MI, working among a team of highly skilled construction professionals.

Your new role

As Superintendent, you will provide overall supervisory and technical management on construction project sites, ensuring client satisfaction is maintained. You will have a high level of control in planning and coordinating field activities, working closely with your Project Manager often during the planning and buyout of the project. You will supervise total construction efforts to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Including interfacing with client representatives, A-E representatives and other contractors. You will develop and manage project schedule, plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions and staff (engineering, material control, etc.) as well as schedule and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring overall contractual performance.

What you'll need to succeed

To apply you will need 8-20 years of construction management and/or craft supervisor experience. A four-year degree in a construction related discipline is preferred. You will have experience working as the lead Superintendent on large scale high-rise multifamily, student housing, hotel and/or commercial office projects.

You will have a thorough knowledge of every aspect of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules and safety. Strong communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential to succeed in this role. The ability to travel as part of your role is necessary, as you will be assigned to a project out of state upon the completion of this particular project. (expected completion time August 2026)
