We are seeking an experienced Area General Manager with a strong HVAC, Plumbing, and maintenance background to oversee our bottling water plant in Santa Clara, CA, and Gilroy, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operational efficiency, driving profitability, and maintaining exceptional customer service levels.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a focus on technical fields or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years of management experience, preferably in Sales/Marketing or Operations Management
Minimum 2 years of experience in service center operations, with expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, or maintenance
Proficiency in accounting, including P&L management and budgeting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
Self-motivated with excellent motivational skills
Proficient in multitasking, time management, and analytical skills
Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office
Location: Santa Clara, CA, with 1-2 days per week travel to Gilroy, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee production and operations at the bottling water plant and satellite branches, focusing on service-related activities such as HVAC, Plumbing, and maintenance
Drive business growth and profitability through efficient management of service operations
Safeguard branch assets and manage profit and loss activities, particularly in service-related revenue streams
Monitor and control overtime and temporary labor usage, especially in service departments
Ensure staff delivers exceptional customer service in service-related interactions and evaluate staff performance in this area
Motivate and recognize branch personnel contributions to foster a team culture emphasizing service excellence
Conduct financial analysis and implement corrective actions as needed, with attention to service-related revenue and expenses
Manage delivery and service call routing efficiently, optimizing schedules for productivity and customer satisfaction
Achieve sales targets for service contracts and related offerings, and prepare forecasts and budgets accordingly
Supervise branch payables, inventory, and receivables, focusing on service-related materials and supplies
Stay informed about local market competition in the service sector and adjust strategies accordingly
Recruit, select, and develop branch employees, emphasizing technical skills and service expertise
Enforce company policies and safety guidelines, particularly in service-related safety protocols
Provide training and coaching to employees, focusing on technical skills and service excellence
Support production supervisor and assist in administrative tasks related to service operations
Handle paperwork related to insurance reporting, particularly in service-related incidents and claims
Wear designated company uniform as required, particularly in service-related roles
Optimize branch efficiency through automation and consolidation of duties, particularly in service-related processes
Physical Requirements:
Equal amounts of time spent walking, standing, and sitting, with occasional lifting of service-related equipment or materials
Hand movements include typing, grasping, and holding, particularly in service-related tasks
