Position Summary:

The Director of Operations for Shasta Thrive is responsible for implementing the strategic plan put forward by the Board and Executive Director, leadership, and management of the organization. This includes a significant focus on fundraising and resource development, in addition to the oversight of programs, volunteer mentorship training, administration, marketing, and community outreach. We are seeking a person who excels both in operations and vision for faith-based community development, working with the at-risk adult population, especially the homeless and at-risk for homeless.

This could be a part-time to full-time position. Hours and work location flexible. The Executive Director will train.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight for the programs that are offered by Shasta Thrive - transitional housing, Christian discipleship / education in life skills, and billable case management services.
  • Fundraising and Resource Development: Lead and prioritize efforts to secure funding and resources essential for supporting Shasta Thrive's mission and expanding its impact. Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, manage donor relationships, and explore new funding opportunities.
  • Oversee systems used in data collection and ensure smooth communication processes.
  • Volunteer Mentorship Program Oversight: Mobilize the Body of Christ through designing, implementing, and supervising a volunteer mentorship program targeted at ministering to the less privileged in Shasta County with God's love and grace, and in practical ways. Ensure effective recruitment, training, and support systems are in place for volunteer mentors to foster impactful mentor-mentee connections.
  • Leadership and Vision: Motivate and manage Shasta Thrive's staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of love, honor, empathy, and accountability in line with the organization's faith-based Kingdom principles.
  • Strategic Management: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to formulate and execute strategic plans that reflect the organization's objectives and address the needs of the community.
  • Operational Planning and Management: Guarantee the efficient planning, operation, and assessment of Shasta Thrive's programs and services, including the volunteer mentorship program.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation, ensuring the organization operates within its means and maximizes its financial resources.
  • Board Administration and Support: Serve as the main point of contact for the Board of Directors, facilitating effective communication and decision making.
  • Human Resources Management: Lead all human resources activities, from staffing to professional development, to build a committed team of staff and volunteers.
  • Community and Public Relations: Promote Shasta Thrive within the community and amongst stakeholders, enhancing its public image and expanding its network of support.
  • Faith Leadership: Embody and articulate Shasta Thrive's faith based values in every aspect of the organization's operation, ensuring these principles guide program development, community outreach, and the organizational ethos.

Qualifications:
  • A passionate commitment to Shasta Thrive's mission and to improving the lives of the less privileged in Shasta County, driven by the beliefs of followers of Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience relevant to the position.
  • Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, with a strong emphasis on successful fundraising and resource development strategies.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing staff, volunteers, and programs, particularly within a faith based context.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of nurturing strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
