Position Summary

Serves as a subject matter expert for payroll processing, time off policies, and timecards to ensure timely processing and completion of weekly and semi-monthly payroll. Position requires a solid working knowledge of payroll best practices, multi-state experience, experience with payrolls larger than 6k, and strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Weekly and Semi payroll processing.
  • Manage flow of employee emails and questions.
  • Review timesheets and attendance records and resolve inaccuracies.
  • Work with payroll manager to ensure proper timecard training for the field personnel.
  • Accurately process employee changes for upcoming payrolls.
  • Process bonus payments accurately with a deep understanding of bonus structures and payment laws.
  • Ensuring all reports weekly/semi-monthly/monthly are run, logged, and saved accordingly.
  • Load new hires into payroll system and ensure accuracy of new hire data.
  • Understand payroll deductions, benefit deductions and garnishment laws.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Seek and find opportunities to increase processing accuracy and to reduce work volume.
  • Understand how deadlines impact payroll processing.
  • Understand time off policies and help answer employee questions.
  • Work towards having a deep understanding of the payroll system.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, compliant, and confidential payroll processes.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years' work experience in multi-state payroll, and multiple FEIN structure.
  • Not less than 5 years' experience working on varied Payroll/HRIS systems. ADP preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities.
  • Intermediate or better Excel skills with the ability to use pivot tables, perform Vlookups, and basic macros.
  • Professional with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • FPC or CPP Certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Possess the ability and inclination to actively find opportunities that others do not and act on them.
