Manage and Develop Community College Curriculum dedicated to the training and certification of the next generation of optical fabrication and laser technicians
Manage Adjunct Instructors and Part-time laboratory personnel
Teach within the program and serve as a back-up instructor for all but the skills courses as needed.
Engage in outreach and marketing activities to raise the profile of the Optical and Laser Technology program and promote enrollment.
Liaison with industry representatives to ensure the program is producing skilled technicians able to meet industry demands and adaptable to innovation and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
1000+ hours of student engagement in a photonics technology program, related to the manufacturing of optics and lasers.
OR, 5 years of experience teaching at the high school or charter school level in combination with industry experience.
OR, 2 years of applied experience in industry or as a research assistant/scientist in at least one of the following technical areas: laser and optical engineering, optical fabrication, assembly, testing, metrology, thin film engineering and application, diamond turning, MRF polishing, laser safety and operations, customer and field service or an allied field, e.g. physics or electrical engineering.
