POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the tallow oil products meet the highest quality standards. This position leads the quality team with training and development initiatives to enhance skills and competencies within the laboratory and across operations. This role collaborates with the operations team to monitor production processes and drive continuous improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create, develop, standardize and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with JST standards, industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a Document Management System to retain Operations procedures, policies, training programs, standing orders, and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes to monitor product quality within a laboratory setting and throughout the production process, including incoming material testing, in-process testing, and final product testing.
  • Establish an auditing program and conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards within the laboratories and production facilities resulting in the identification of areas for improvement.
  • Conducts regular check-ins with the laboratory team, including the Lab Supervisor.
  • Determine and drive the implementation of the appropriate LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for JST laboratories to ensure proper sample management, data management & accessibility and quality control.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, inventory & production planning, and the commercial team to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for growth and enhancement.
  • Develop standard training documents for the Operations and Quality teams to ensure continuity across sites and more rapid onboarding of new employees.
  • Manage customer complaints and inquiries related to product quality, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Using a Lean methodology, drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce rework, and enhance overall product quality and reliability.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports and metrics to the leadership team, highlighting areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead R&D efforts to support continuous improvement efforts both in the laboratory and production environment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Quality Management or Chemistry, is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience with Quality Assurance roles, preferably in the oil industry. Proven experience in quality program development, implementation, and sustainment is essential.
  • As a Quality Assurance manager, you'll need strong leadership skills to oversee quality standards and guide your team.
  • Being aware of your surroundings and adapting to changing situations is crucial.
  • You'll encounter various challenges, so effective problem-solving skills are valuable.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for coordinating with teams and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Having a valid driver's license is beneficial.
  • Managing schedules, compliance, and maintenance requires good organizational abilities.
