UWL, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated and analytical problem-solver to come join our family as an Air Import Lead for our growing operations in Chicago!
The Air Import Lead will be responsible for overseeing the processing of all UWL Air Import shipments, as well as the movement and monitoring while in route. This role will have direct communication with customers, overseas offices and carriers. Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily management and coordination of shipments
Direct desk level, day to day operations of the Air Department
Champion process and procedure to meet or exceed company KPI requirements
Mentor and train new & existing staff from time to time
Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solution
Responsible for cost auditing of shipments
Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, select most cost-effective method of delivery, in conjunction with UWL pricing department
Daily Communication with customer on relevant issues and resolution
Demonstrate deductive logic, problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Effectively deal with any issues that arise within scope of responsibility
Education & Experience:
Minimum of (3-5) years experience working directly in air imports
CargoWise Experience
Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study a plus but not required
Dangerous Goods Certification
Proven ability as a self-starter, with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve results
Good command of English language, both verbally and written
Above average customer service skills
Interpersonal skills that build respected professional relationships internally & externally
Demonstrated good leadership and management skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
