R.M. Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Its products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our team. The FP&A Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and business insight generation. This role will also contribute significantly to the month-end close and financial reporting processes. This role is crucial in providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making and drive business performance. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and MD&A reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial reports & scorecards, variance analysis, and business performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial modeling supporting key processes.
  • Monitor and analyze key financial performance indicators and provide insights on business trends and opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for board meetings and executive reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive financial discipline and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for capital investment decisions and strategic projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; CPA, MBA, or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, or related roles is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with month-end close processes, financial reporting, and preparing financial statements is required.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills is required; prior experience with AS400 & JD Edwards is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing operations (within Consumer Packaged Goods companies) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive individual who can handle working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience, with a track record of driving results.
