WHAT WE NEED
Wolf & Shepherd is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Content to oversee and lead our content creation efforts. The Director of Content will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with our brand voice and business objectives. This role requires a creative leader with a deep understanding of digital marketing, storytelling, and the ability to drive engagement across multiple platforms. To succeed in this role, you must be highly organized, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record in content development and management in a fast-paced environment.
JOB TYPE This is a full-time, exempt position based at the Wolf & Shepherd offices in El Segundo, CA.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with brand and business goals.
Lead the content team in the creation of high-quality, engaging content across all platforms including website, social media, email, and print.
Oversee the editorial calendar to ensure timely delivery of content that resonates with our target audience.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Performance Team to ensure content consistency and alignment with brand messaging.
Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and reach.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate best practices into the content strategy.
Manage relationships with external content creators, freelancers, and agencies.
Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content.
Develop and maintain content guidelines and standards.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the content team, fostering a creative and collaborative work environment.
Oversee the content budget and allocate resources effectively.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, 7+ years of experience in content creation, content strategy, or related roles, with a portfolio of published work.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and analytics.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of internal management, vendors, and partners.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
