The Financial Crimes Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) Consumer, Small and Business Banking (CSBB) team within Corporate Risk is an independent risk management testing function for financial crimes risk disciplines including BSA/AML, Sanctions, OFAC, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). The CSBB team is responsible for executing targeted reviews in the areas of high and emerging financial crimes risk and related reviews such as Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) testing to independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes or activities and mitigating controls. CSBB is also responsible for executing financial crimes issue validations. We currently have an opportunity on the CSBB team as a Senior Independent Testing Specialist to execute financial crimes reviews and issue validations.

In this role, you will:
  • Understand and apply guidance from Testing & Validation Policy, Procedures, Playbooks, and Job Aids.
  • Assign tasks/responsibilities to engagement tester(s)/validator(s), establishing milestone dates that allow engagement target due dates to be met and conducting frequent touchpoints to track progress, address concerns, or provide guidance.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environments, and understand market/business/regulatory changes to determine impacts to engagement plans and scopes.
  • Effectively communicate the validation or testing process, status, and results to IT&V leadership, business and risk partners
  • Write and/or review reports or presentations that clearly articulate the results/conclusions of validation or testing activities.
  • Effectively communicate with IT&V Leadership and escalate concerns or issues as appropriate.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Provide credible challenge and recommendations to IT&V Leadership as needed.
  • Actively participate in learning & development opportunities to ensure the use of best-in-class processes and procedures.
  • Assist in managing change to ensure an effective risk management program.
  • Foster relationships with teams and collaborate across all other T&V teams effectively.
  • Lead or participate in moderate to high risk or complex review activities in a matrixed environment and communicate emerging risks to management within Independent Testing
  • Contribute to large scale planning related to Independent Testing deliverables.
  • Review and research moderately complex potential corrective actions, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and resolution.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs and controls according to standards and other applicable policies.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet Independent Testing deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment.
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners, management and lines of business regarding risk management.
  • Work independently to execute tasks and documentation with minimal rework.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Testing, Audit, regulatory and risk management experience.
  • Knowledge on Financial Crimes areas including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Sanctions/Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC)
  • Ability to identify issues, risk and escalate to the appropriate party
  • Full testing lifecycle experience that includes determining scope, designing test scripts, executing tests, identifying and escalating issues and risks, and documenting and reporting results
  • Issues management, validation and tracking
  • Experience leading testing engagements, preferably of large scope, while leading other testers and resources
  • Experience providing "credible challenge" to business partners, when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence
  • Experience writing reports for senior leadership audience level
  • Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing
  • Critical Thinking and Analytical skills
One or more of the following certifications is desired:
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
