- Bachelors Degree in Related Field
- 3-5+ Years as a Quality Manager in an FDA Regulated CPG Food manufacturing or food packaging environment
- Regulatory compliance experience, PCQI, risk management, and data analysis are all very important
- Culture is strong but the organization is also in a reorganization mode. They want someone entrepreneurial who will own this role and make decisions
- This role will have 14 people reporting into them which includes a QA/QC Supervisor and 13 QA Techs
- This individual will need to have experience setting up structure in a Quality department and delegate responsibilities. Lead and corral the team and decide where people are best suited on the team to succeed
- Ensuring the facility delivers the required standards of food safety according to both Company and Regulatory policies, procedures, and practices
- Ensuring the development, compliance, and certification of HACCP, cGMP, and other food safety programs and adherence to required food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies and practices
- Supervise and manage all prerequisite programs: Recall, Calibrations and verifications, Regulatory Documentation, Allergens, Sanitation, GMP, Pest Control and Maintenance
Quality Assurance Manager
"Manage employees in the Quality Assurance and Sanitation Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and developing employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensuring the facility delivers the required standards of food safety according to both Company and Regulatory policies, procedures, and practices.
Develop and mentor a strong quality team that supports a world class manufacturing system.
Responsible for managing NSF/FDA and all customer audits and Vendor audits.
Ensuring the development, compliance, and certification of HACCP, cGMP, and other food safety programs and adherence to required food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies and practices.
Supervise and manage all prerequisite programs: Recall, Calibrations and verifications, Regulatory Documentation, Allergens, Sanitation, GMP, Pest Control and Maintenance. Preparation and implementation of operations and QA standard operating procedures (SOP's) that supports company programs and requirements
Ensuring product traceability, inspection program management, vendor management, and microbial program metrics are established, and conduct periodic mock recalls.
Working collaboratively across all necessary functions to ensure adherence to established programs and practices
Primary plant contact and communication for customers and suppliers for all quality, food safety and regulatory issues
The Ideal Candidate Undergraduate degree (Bachelor's degree B. A.) from four-year college or university
Three to five years Quality Assurance management experience within the food manufacturing or food packaging industries.
Working knowledge of ATP and FTIR equipment preferred.
Physical working environment is multi-shift, high speed packaging and warehouse operations which may be noisy and very warm (or very cold).
