We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our North Aurora facility. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Our welders play a critical role in the foundation for strong infrastructure. You must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

Supervision: No direct reports
Received: General. This position will work independently within accepted guidelines. Receives occasional close/specific supervision with special job/work assignments.
Given: Leadership skills required. May assist in training of other welders and new or transferred welders.
Communication Skills/Requirements:
Able to communicate verbally and/or in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and discrepancy issues. Interacts verbally and in writing with customers, employees, members of management, and others, as necessary. Telephone communication skills required, and some personal contacts may be necessary. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and positive demeanor in performance of duties.
Mathematical Ability:
Able to use math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals, or percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Able to follow instructions and/or directions requiring normal to extended periods of concentration. Requires ability to follow a course/sequence of action within specified procedures and to logically think through error issues to resolve or contact appropriate source. Must maintain normal mental alertness to assure accurate order entry. Must be able to organize work to ensure attention to detail and follow through.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift to 75lbs with assistance (60% of time)
Twisting and bending required (100% of time)
Prolonged periods of standing and sitting (100% of time)
Pushing and pulling required (60% of time)
Climbing stairs (5% of time)
Wearing welding gear (95% time)
Work Environment:
Manufacturing Plant. Safety glasses and steel toe work boots required. Protective clothing including welding helmet, gloves, & leathers required while welding. Exposed to normal manufacturing hazards.
