Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) seeks experienced Proposal Coordinators to serve as Proposal Engineering Activity Captains on the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles, Missouri.

In this role you will be responsible for leading proposal engineering efforts across the Precision Engagement Systems portfolio of products and across multiple engineering disciplines.

As a part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Support Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) Proposal Technical Coordinator with deliverables and schedules.
  • Breakdown customer statement of work (SOW) into requirements for different functions to utilize in creating an estimate for customer proposals.
  • Plan, identify and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or proposal.
  • Provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
  • Work with cross-functional organizations including, various engineering functions, supplier management, procurement, contracts, and finance.
  • Identify engineering risk, issue, and opportunity, as well as, plan development, and plan execution, to include issue resolution and plan changes.
  • Communicate with program management and customers to help define requirements.


Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically or internationally depending on business needs.

In order to meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Saint Charles, MO.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership to cross functional engineering projects.
  • Experience with proposals, Request For Information (RFIs), or Request For Proposal (RFPs).


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience analyzing business/engineering requirements.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Experience with Export Compliance or International programs.
  • Defense Industry Experience.
  • Project management experience in an engineering environment.
  • Engineering project planning or project management.
  • Supporting weapons systems.
  • Working directly with government customers.
  • Collaborating across functions and organizations.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.


Typical Education & Experience:

Lead (level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Lead (level 4): 114,750 - 155,250

Lead (level 5): 140,250 - 189,750
