As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Mission Control Center (MCC) IT Manager to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).
We are pleased to inform you that Lynker Corporation supports a flexible work environment. Remote work is permitted upon approval; however, you will also be required to work from the on site office as necessary to fulfill your role’s responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities of the Mission Control Center IT Manager will include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate critical aspect of the NDBC mission which involves numerous supporting IT systems, software development/maintenance, database administration, information security, and automated quality control processes
Responsible for the 24x7x365 processing, dissemination, and archiving of real time, high quality meteorological and oceanographic data from both NDBC and partner observing stations which involves the following:
24x7x365 monitoring of critical data flow to include operational status of NDBC observation platforms
Real-time data quality control and distribution including prevention of dissemination of erroneous data to the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) and NDBC Website
Support of ongoing maintenance and development of observation data processing and quality control routines
Proper archiving of transmitted and platform/sensor stored data with associated metadata on local network and remote cloud environments
Support of life-cycle management of all hardware and software including enhancements to existing code and development of new code
Monitoring, maintenance, project management, and performance enhancements to NDBC software and databases
Evaluation of and updates to the NDBC website to improve data presentation/visualization
24x7x365 on-call support for primary IT mission essential computing and information system functions to support continuity of NDBC operations
Evaluation/support of all NDBC IT and support systems to identify deficiencies and increase reliability, security, and capabilities
Support for NDBC/NOAA office and business IT systems/applications which include operation of a comprehensive IT support Help Desk
Work closely with the NDBC Government MCC Branch Chief to ensure all requirements are understood and met
Qualifications
Requirements of the Mission Control Center IT Manager:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
10+ years of relevant experience
