Oversee company grounds, buildings, contractors, equipment, loading dock/ warehouse to ensure a safe and functional workplace.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the security, maintenance, and services of the facility
Oversee all services that help and/or are required for the business to perform its work in order to maintain the day-to-day operations of the facility and oversee facility upkeep and improvement
Meeting with the management team to define EHS goals and objectives and implement new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations and training employees on health and safety policies and best practices
Keep abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices
Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations and provide solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards
Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports and health and safety manuals
Perform repairs and/or schedule and supervise maintenance repair work; this may include climbing ladders to high elevation such as the roof .
Plan and coordinate installations and refurbishments
Monitor safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas
Obtain quotes and assess costs of repairs and improvements
Collaborate with building owner or property management team, as applicable
Proficient with repair tools and techniques
Manage contractors, schedule; oversee the work and safety inspections
Ensure safety regulations are followed
Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies. Preparing and submitting health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organization(s)
Monitor weather conditions and identify areas of concern
Assist with equipment receipt and installation, as required
Oversee Logistics Specialist; loading dock and warehouse, as needed
Be available for weekend emergencies
Record tasks in accordance to Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Follow applicable SOPs and procedural documents
Education, Experience & Skills required
Previous experience in facility management or Environmental Health and Safety; all experiences will be evaluated; Technical certifications and/or BS degree preferred
Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems
Able to work in a regulated environment
OSHA or similar EHS certification
Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI
Able to work effectively and contribute within a team
Able to work with computer systems
Able to lift 50 pounds
Able to document clearly
Physical Demands
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 6 hours per day
Walking and/or standing as required for the rest of the working day
Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.; this includes lifting boxes, equipment, etc.
Bending or standing as necessary
