The Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky (BIA) is a prominent organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the construction industry while operating two 501(c)3 education foundations. The Enzweiler Building Institute (EBI) is a leading provider of hands-on training and education in the construction trades. Our mission is to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals, ensuring a strong future for the building industry. The Covington Academy of Heritage Trades (CAHT) focuses on preserving traditional building skills and heritage trades. We offer specialized training programs to foster craftsmanship and maintain the legacy of historic construction methods.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead and execute our fundraising and development strategies across BIA, EBI, and CAHT. This role is pivotal in securing financial and material support, to sustain and expand our programs and initiatives. The Director of Development will work closely with our executive team, boards of directors, and stakeholders to achieve our strategic goals while serving as a member of our staff leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual and long-term goals for BIA, EBI, and CAHT.
Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other funding sources.
Grant Writing: Identify grant opportunities and work with leadership team and third party grant services providers.
Event Planning: Work with event teammates of fundraising elements of their events and campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Partnership Development: Build and manage partnerships with industry leaders, community organizations, and educational institutions to enhance support and collaboration.
Financial Management: Work with the finance team to monitor budgets, track donations, and ensure transparency and accountability in the use of funds.
Marketing and Communication: Collaborate with the marketing team to create impactful fundraising materials and campaigns that effectively communicate our mission and achievements.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in development or fundraising, preferably within the nonprofit or education sectors.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (CFRE) in fundraising is a plus.
Skills: Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor engagement. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in grant writing and event management.
